Tristan’s Story
Tristan’s journey is one of incredible resilience, love, and hope. Born prematurely at just 27 weeks, he entered the world fighting. Although early MRI scans showed no major brain damage, he struggled with muscle tone and mobility - early signs of a movement disorder falling under the umbrella of cerebral palsy (CP). From infancy, Tristan has undergone intensive therapies and interventions to help him overcome these physical challenges.
His family has never stopped fighting for his future. From travelling abroad for stem cell therapy in Germany and Austria, to structured mobility learning and daily physiotherapy, they’ve invested everything - emotionally and financially - to give Tristan the best possible chance to thrive.
Now, as Tristan enters puberty, he faces a new set of challenges. Rapid bone growth without matching muscle strength puts him at risk of skeletal misalignment and long-term joint issues. Life-changing surgery in Switzerland has given him a real shot at walking independently - but the journey doesn’t end there.
Why We Need Your Help
Tristan now requires three months of intensive, specialist post-operative rehabilitation abroad - a cost of nearly £100,000. While this type of care is often covered by health systems for EU residents, self-funding families like Tristan’s are left facing an overwhelming financial burden.
